Happy Holidays and welcome to my little rustic holiday home tour! I like to keep my decor simplistic & try to incorporate much of my already existing decor and always use elements from nature to bring some festive flare to the holiday season.
It could be because I live in Southern California and it feels like the furtherest thing from my traditional Christmas’ growing up, but I love to make my home feel like a rustic cabin tucked away in the mountains. This of course has to be done sans the snow, the fireplace (though we do have one outdoors!) and the mountains, but in the end I think I’ve captured at least a little bit of the rustic holiday feel in my home.
Christmas begins and ends around the tree. I keep a very simply decorated tree with a few strands of burlap and an assortment of vintage mercury glass ornaments from Restoration Hardware. I feel like I don’t have to have nearly as many ornaments on the tree with these because they reflect the light so beautifully.
You’ll see throughout the house that I love incorporating greenery when possible. It may be quite simply the best purchase you can make each year to help give you that perfect holiday home. I love to get my from Trader Joe’s and they smell so good! If you’re lucky enough to live near pine trees and alike, just snip some branches off and place them in the vases or trays for an effortless, rustic feel.

My dining room is where most of the decor seems to end up. I can’t help but start with the dining room table and work my way around the room adding little holiday touches here and there. I scored most of my new items at TJ Maxx or Target this year.
I think my plaid table runner sets the stage accompanied by large branches of greenery and a galvanized tray from Decor Steals. I switched out the candles I was using during Thanksgiving for more festive ones and grabbed this mini tree from Trader Joe’s to complete the centerpiece.
Of course my bar cart and wine barrel got in on the holiday action with their own set of rustic holiday touches. I scored this set of 3 or 4 silver reindeer from Pottery Barn many years ago and swear that I will never get rid of them. They’re like my little buddies that I get so excited to unpack each December. It could turn into a “Where’s Waldo?” to find where I put them throughout the house each year!
Each holiday I swear the Moet & Chandon champagne bottles gets me every time! How adorably festive is this year’s party addition? I haven’t decided if I’m opening it for Christmas or New Year’s. It’s just too pretty to open!
Other little touches around the house include plenty of mini Christmas trees, plaid throws, holiday pillows and items from the infamous Dollar Bins (though they all aren’t a $1) at Target. Even Dexie’s dog treat area got in on the holiday action.
Speaking of Dexie, just had to share this adorable holiday photo with all of you! She wasn’t necessarily pleased with the Santa hat, but she suffered through it for a biscuit!
Make sure to connect with me on Instagram to keep up to date with all the holiday action happening! I wish you all a very Happy Holidays.
Wow!!! Perfect style.
