As someone who takes great pleasure in little organizing projects, I’ve never really had chaotic bathroom drawers and an unsightful medicine cabinet. I’m not saying this to sing my own praises, it’s simply my own compulsions that lead me to spend hours figuring out the best use of available space. So with that being said, I wanted to share with you how I’ve organized my bathroom thus far (because yes, it’ll l likely change again in the future!) and any tips that I’ve learned along the way in the new home.
Tip 1 — Use drawer organizers to keep your makeup and other odds & ends in compartments. I found these acrylic organizers at TJ Maxx and they not only keep items in their place, but I can easily see what products I have.
You can purchase them as individual compartments or as one big one. Just be sure to measure your drawer prior to buying!

Tip 2 — Keep things organized by type. Foundations go together, concealers, bronzers, blush, eyeliners, eyeshadows, etc. Eliminate digging at all costs.
Tip 3 — Maximize the height of your drawer by using adhesive clear containers. I used a few to organize my lipgloss, lipstick, lip pencils, etc. I clearly have an abundance of them and I’ve learned over time that if I can’t see what I have, it won’t get used. I love that I can now easily grab what I’m looking for and I’m utilizing the space efficiently.
Tip 4 — Organize your makeup brushes and keep them in a place that is handy. I love the idea of storing my brushes in decorative jars on the vanity, but my current mood is to keep a relatively clean countertop and since we’re in a new construction area, there is a lot of dust in the air and I don’t want that ending up on my face.
I found these great 3M acrylic organizers at Target that come with an adhesive strip. By adhering these to the drawer sides it eliminates the containers from sliding all over.
If you’re looking to set new resolutions in the New Year and organizing is one of them… this is an easy project that you can get started with right away!
