while I REALLY wanted to camp tonight in a van dow while I REALLY wanted to camp tonight in a van down by the river (com’on Farley fans, it was too easy), it didn’t feel safe. I was worried my van would get stuck due to quite a bit of snow already on the ground and more coming + next to no cell service. Got to enjoy the view for a hot minute and off I went to find a new spot. Ohh these are the joys of van life I that secretly love.
i love you. i love you. i love you. i'm pawstively i love you. i love you. i love you. i'm pawstively smitten for you kody boy. 🐾

A question I often get asked is if I have any plan A question I often get asked is if I have any plans to live full time in my van. The short answer : no.

The long answer : my full intentions when I purchased the van was to have it as my adventure mobile, plus use it occasionally for @modishdigital when it came to photoshoots. While I am inspired by minimalism, I’m a long ways from it and you truly have to be ready to part with 90% of your things in order to live life on the road. Plus, I really love having a place to come home to after weeks of exploring. I’m a bit OCD so trying to temper my anxiety when things get messy + dirty is a work in progress.

I am incredibly inspired by van lifers and can see myself venturing out for 1-2 month long stints in the future. It takes a lot of schedule juggling with my business, but that’s the beauty of it ... to have the freedom to define my work / life balance the way I see fit. So you never know what will come of the “Modish Mobile!”

Do you have questions about jumping into van life as a newbie? I’m more than happy to share my experiences because it wasn’t all pretty!

I’m so damn proud of her for believing in her vision, making it happen and imparting her wisdom on us with daily (10 minutes or less) podcast episodes to listen to while we walk or run 1 mile a day.

By now you've probably heard the term ◦conscious By now you've probably heard the term ◦conscious consumerism◦ — when buying practices are driven by a commitment to making purchasing decisions that have positive social, economic, and environmental impact.⠀
⠀
This is something I've been trying to make big strides in but often one I admittedly struggle with. This year, when it comes to my closet, I'm trying to really really focus on bringing in items that are not only timeless, but multi-functional, high-quality, durable and most importantly, supporting brands like @panerosclothing who's doubling down on their efforts to create sustainable clothing that downshifts the fast paced fashion industry.⠀
⠀
This also doesn't always mean buying new. Shopping second hand is an important way to upcycle clothing, shoes and even handbags. I've scored some real steals this way AND I know people have gotten some killer good items from me at a fraction of the retail price when I do a closet clean out. Just saying, be open to it.⠀
⠀
Ok with that being said, can we talk about how beautiful the Stella dress is from @panerosclothing. I can't say enough great things about. It's ridiculously comfortable, lightweight to survive year round here in California and has just the perfect floral print where it's not too overwhelming and feminine. I'm in love (with the dress and my adorable niece). ✨
To say that I am eager to get on the road and go c To say that I am eager to get on the road and go camping is an understatement. To put it simply, I miss my van. It's been almost two months since I've taken it out and I think she's ready for an adventure.

While my schedule doesn't afford me the opportunity to go on a healthy road trip right now, I'm thinking that a few solitude days of remote working will help me tackle a couple of key projects that I need to hunker down and finish up. Eliminate the distractions of day-to-day life might be just the thing I need to stay focused on the big picture.

[Caveat: my laptop decided to no longer turn on over the holidays so there's that. Remote work just became that much harder.]

What are you itching to do already in 2021?
