This past weekend Sean & I celebrated our 10 year anniversary at Santo Mezcal in Santa Barbara and it was above & beyond our expectations! We love Mexican food and we love Santa Barbara so when they offered to treat us to a wonderful lunch at their (relatively) new location, we jumped at the opportunity.
There is so much to love about Santo Mezcal from the beautiful design and ambiance to the abundance of FRESH menu items. When I say fresh, I really mean their menu is sourced with all fresh ingredients! The tortilla chips are made to order, the mixes for the cocktails are handmade (never store bought), the sauces are made with fresh produce and so on …..
Honestly, you immediately taste the quality of their ingredients. We could simply just go for the trio of salsas and homemade chips with a margarita pepino (cucumber marg) and be happy as can be. Thankfully the incredible team at Santo Mezcal (Jaime & Martin) treated us to an assortment of AMAZING cocktails, an appetizer of the best ceviche verde and entrees that were heavenly. A quick way to my heart is through a chicken enchilada (sans the dairy) & margarita. Santo Mezcal delivers 5 stars on everything.
What we really enjoyed about our anniversary lunch was being able to kick back for a few hours and laugh over stories from the past 10 years (and boy are there a lot of them). We laughed, quizzed each other and reminisced about what a great journey we’ve been on. We clinked margarita glasses in celebration of the past 10 years and for the next 10 years ahead.
Did you know that Santo Mezcal team up with Fig Mountain to produce a Mexican Lager for their menu? The report back from Sean is that it was refreshing, crisp and perfect with chips & salsa. I love seeing local brands supporting one another!
We have been having gorgeous weather here in Southern California and since we were in Santa Barbara during the daytime, I wanted to dress casually cool for our Anniversary lunch. I scored this Lack of Color straw hat the night before at Sirena boutique in the Funk Zone of SB. It was actually an impromptu anniversary gift and I’ll be the first to tell you that you’re going to see a lot of me in this hat all summer long!
Off the shoulder tops are basically my lifesaver right now as it just seems to be my go-to style for feeling comfortable yet cute. This one is from last summer at Cotton On and was under $20. Pair it with your favorite pair of denim (I live in the skinny crop style) and slip into these SUPER comfortable sandals I just scored at Whole Foods. I typically can’t wear flat sandals, but these have this air-like quality to them that makes you feel like you’re walking on a cloud. I’m on the hunt for more styles!
Anyways, if you live locally in the Santa Barbara area or are planning a visit to Santa Barbara soon then you’ll definitely want to add Santo Mezcal to your drinking + eating list! We are already planning when we can go next and bring some friends with just because I can’t stop thinking about that Margarita Pepino & Ceviche Verde. So good!
Keep Living a Stylized Life.
