Dog Days : Wide Retriever Halloween Outfit

10.21.14

With Halloween just around the corner it’s time to start thinking about how you’ll style your pet for the occasion! Some fabulous dogs will let their owners do just about anything to them (hats, sunglasses, bows, etc!) while others will bare just the minimum of humiliation. That’s where Dexie comes in. She is never going to let me place something on her head, but she’s always up for a good jersey or two!

Since we’re still loyal to our home state, Dexie’s game to wear a Packers jersey in support of her green and gold! Bonus — she can wear it every Sunday throughout the fall too!

In continuing with our football spirit, Dexie couldn’t decide if she wanted to be the linebacker or the Wide Retriever! She isn’t always up for a game of fetch, but she sure can play the part!
A safe way to apply the black eye paint is to use eyeshadow, just don’t get it too close to their actually eyes. Simply wet a wash cloth when you’re done and it wipes right off!

What are your pets dressing up as this Halloween? I feel like little dogs definitely have more fun options, but it’s always fun to see the big dogs dressed up in something goofy!! We’d love to see your pics on social media using #modishpets.
Keep Living a Stylized Life (even your dog!).

    1. Ohhhh you’re so sweet Abbie! Dexie’s a pretty good sport when it comes to being an active participant, but when she’s done… she’s done! Plus, there are lots of treats involved!

What kind of dog do you have Abbie?

  1. hi!

    LOVE LOVE LOVE your furbaby!

what did you use to make the smudges under your baby’s eyes??

this is a precious idea, can’t wait to borrow your idea!

    1. On that particular photo, yes it was photoshopped but I do use an all-natural charcoal grey eyeshadow when I do the black marks for Halloween. They wipe off with a wet washcloth and don’t irritate her.
