I recently joined a Mom’s Club where everyone was talking about what oils (essential, coconut, avocado, etc) they use for this and that! I had used a different essentials oil company in the past so I was familiar with oils but not like these ladies. They opened my eyes to a whole new world of options. I was added onto their helpful Facebook group to learn more and again I was blown away with all you can do with essential oils. I decided to buy some and give essential oils a try for myself.
Peace & Calming, Cedarwood and Lavender work well together. They help you relax, be more grounded, calming, and have more mental focus. So blending all these together is a great cocktail for a good nights sleep.
My 2 biggest needs when I received the oils were to find out how they could help my kids relax at night/sleep better and help with my stress level during the day. Staying home with my full of life little boys that go nonstop can take a toll. So the first oil I tried was the stress away on the inside of my wrist! WOW I could feel myself relax and not have that anxiousness anymore. I was hooked!
Now to find something for my boys was up next. I was happy to find a similar recipe that I was able to tweak to make it fit my needs.
Sleepy Time Cream:
½ cup of the base cream
How to make the base cream:
8oz of Shea Butter (Whole Foods)
3 oz of Grape Seed Oil
3 oz Coconut Oil
Mix together with a handheld or KitchenAid mixer for about 5 minutes. It will still be in liquid form so put it into the fridge for an hour and then mix again for 5 minutes till it becomes fluffy. Utilize a small glass jar and put in 1/2 cup of the base cream and add your essential oil drops and gently stir them in until well mixed.
15 drops Cedarwood
10 drops Peace and Calming
20 drops Lavender
Apply to feet about 30 minutes before bedtime.
I love using this cream since it’s ready to go in the fridge and I grab a dab and apply to the bottoms of their feet. If you can tolerate putting on socks on till it soaks in, that helps make it more effective. I have also personally used it and it really seems to help me relax and turn my brain off so I can fall asleep.
There are so many amazing oils that I am discovering. My husband is even trying one of the oils out on a few moles. He has a few that he wants removed and I told him to give it a try!
