The flea market finds on my last trip just keep getting better! I’ve already shared with you my new herb garden recycled from a vintage industrial sewing bin and now I’m sharing with you a closer look at my industrial pendant light hung up in my office.
You may have caught a glimpse of the lighting fixture from my DIY industrial wood shelving post earlier this week. It turned out to be the perfect addition to my home office space with it’s industrial aesthetic and vintage feel.
A quick back story on this beautiful pendant light. With the help of my Dad (of course), we attempted to hang it up only to find that it short circuited the outlets. With more tinkering, we tried it again with no luck. Thankfully he’s a very determined man and ended up having to take the entire fixture apart and rewire it from top to bottom. It was a ton of trial and error, but he got it to work!
I ordered a pair of “Edison” bulbs from Amazon and the whole industrial look came to life. The cool thing about this fixture is that there is one bulb pointing upwards and another pointing downwards with each having their own switch. Not only does it give it extra character, but the functionality is pretty great too. Not bad for a flea market find!
I’d love to hear what you think of my flea market upgrade?!?!
