Gluten Free Beef Stew Seasoning Mix

11.30.15

As soon as the weather turns chilly, one of my favorite dishes to make is beef stew in the crockpot. Rather than purchasing the prepackaged seasoning, gather an assortment of items from your pantry and make your own gluten free beef stew seasoning mix.

I’m still learning to modify some of my favorite recipes into healthy options that fit my gluten and dairy free dietary needs. Beef stew was a staple throughout the winter months growing up in Wisconsin. It was the perfect meal to let simmer all day while we were playing outside and we loved dishing up bowls of the hearty stew to warm ourselves up come evening time.

In the past, I had always purchased the prepackaged seasoning mix. It was just easy to have on hand in the pantry and didn’t have to think twice about it. Since the temperatures dropped to the 50º-60º range here in Southern California (that’s considered cold), I was definitely craving a heaping bowl of beef stew & set out to make my own seasoning mix that would accommodate my gluten free needs.
