One of my favorite things to do when I’m at my parent’s home in Wisconsin is to relax & unwind in their back porch sun room. Obviously it’s unavailable to use during the winter months, but it’s absolute perfection throughout spring, summer and early fall. They’ve created a space that’s incredibly comfortable, functional and appeasing.
Many of the items found in the sun room are repurposed from garage sales, flea markets and DIY projects. I love how they invite spring/summer weather in with the bright green chest that the TV sits on. The creative touch by adding hand-painted knobs brings even more character to it.
I’ve taken many naps on this couch or kicked back and read a book in these ridiculously comfortable reclining chairs. These should win an award for best Craigslist find!
I think what makes a comfortable living space is creating an environment that invites people in, encourages them to kick off their shoes and relax. My parents sun room truly accomplishes all of that and more. It has an overall ‘Bee” theme that’s fun and playful, but done very tastefully. Some day…. some day I’ll get myself a house that can have a sun room!
