Alright it’s about time I finally take a step back and actually show you the entire kitchen! I’ve already shared with you a peek inside my cabinets, and our DIY backsplash. As I’ve mention before, one of the main features of our home that ultimately made us fall in love with the design plans was the open floor plan concept. We love that whomever is cooking in the kitchen is still a part of the conversation that may be happening in the living room or the dining room. It also makes the whole area feel so much bigger!
When it comes to designing your home with an open floor plan, you do have to pay quite a bit more attention into what you are choosing because it has to flow between the different spaces pretty effortlessly because there are no walls to separate the rooms. We really started with the kitchen when it comes to designing our home and naturally gravitated towards a blend of industrialism and rustic with modern touches. Scroll through the photos to see our latest home tour of the kitchen!
I’m not going to lie, I stalked the Restoration Hardware outlet for these barstools. I really wanted this style and shade of wood because it’s similar to my dining table which is right behind them. They bring in the perfect touch of rustic while still not being too heavy on the eye.
One of my absolute favorite features of the kitchen is the gigantic stainless steel sink nestled into our island! I love that we can easily wash pots and pans in here without worrying about water all over our counters. I do however have plans to get rid of the builder-grade faucet and hoping for a great deal on one of those chrome pull-down sprayers!
Yes… that’s a gallon size jug of Tabasco on the counter! Sean has a few of them and is constantly filling up his smaller bottles. I’m actually getting used to them as a part of the decoration.
The wood box is a Rose Bowl flea market find and works perfectly to corral my oils and spices that we tend to use on a daily basis.
A treat to ourselves for the new house, well really for Sean since I don’t drink much caffeine, is the Nespresso Vertuoline. I’m definitely more inclined to try some of these fancy beverages with all the amazing recipes and types of coffee they provide!
The ultimate game changer to the overall look of our kitchen was these industrial inspired pendant lights I nabbed for just over $100 each at Lowe’s. Here’s the best part …. they are ON SALE FOR $64 right now!!
No shocker here, but we have a wine fridge as well. The rustic wood crate on top is from another flea market and with the help of my Mom we cleaned it up and applied a few chalkboard signs to each side for a bit more character. You can get the full DIY tutorial I created over on the Cambria Wine blog.
I hope you enjoyed the latest home tour and feel free to check out some of the other rooms in the house too (dining room | home office | pet area)!
Keep Living a Stylized Life.
