How I Got the Best Skin of My Life

Truth be told, I got the best skin of my life in my mid-thirties.

How I got the best skin of my life has been a very long and educational journey. I’m hoping that my sharing my story and what has worked for me will save you or someone you know the hassle that I had to go through for a much longer period of time.

First of all, our skin is a direct reflection of how we treat it. It wasn’t until I got into my 30’s that I truly understood what that meant. I’ve shared in the past with you that I went dairy free over 2 years ago and that lifestyle change alone completely eliminated my cystic acne.  While I was thrilled with my skin because it was acne free, this year I started to feel like my skin appeared dull and lackluster. That was the beginning of how I got the best skin of my life at 34.

It wasn’t until this past spring that I was chatting with my neighbor, who is an esthetician, about if she knew anyone who does facials using only all-natural products. Well…. she did. Fast forward to having the most incredible facial with her and she introduced me to the skincare line called Éminence. It’s a line that derives from Hungary and they create their line of all-natural skincare using plants that they harvest on their own farmlands.

She sent me home with a bunch of samples and within a week I had placed a large order for a whole new all-natural skincare regime using Éminence. Let me walk you through the products I ordered, how I use them and why I love them so much that I already placed a re-order.

Éminence Bright Skin Licorice Root Booster Serum — this serum alone could be the game changer to why I love my skin so much now. You only need to apply the size of a pea for you whole face, but it works like magic. It diminishes dark spots and since it’s infused with vitamins C + E, it brightens and smooths the skin as well.  I currently use this morning & night.

Éminence Bright Skin Moisturizer with SPF30 — this moisturizer is without fail something I put on every single day because it has the SPF30 built right into. I love that it’s one less product I need to apply and more like a 2-for-1. Since I have melasma on my upper lip and exposure to the sun only worsens melasma, skipping sunscreen is not an option. It’s a pretty thick moisturizer, so you don’t need a lot, but it really soaks into your skin leaving it hydrated all day long.

Éminence Bright Skin Overnight Correcting Cream — if the evening, after cleansing and applying the Licorice Root Booster Serum, I apply this cream to really work its brightening magic while I sleep. Again, it’s quite thick but it effectively alleviates signs of aging, dark spots, acne and dryness. The combo of these two moisturizers have really done wonders for my skin. My esthetician told me that I should never go to bed without (1) throughout cleansing the skin, (2) applying a good serum and (3) a really good moisturizer because it’s when our skin is trying to rejuvenate and replenish the most.

Éminence Wild Plum Eye Cream — it finally dawned on me that I’m in my mid-thirties and I should probably be using an eye cream. Again, when I was feeling like my skin appeared really dull, a lot of that was happening around my eye area. This cream hydrates and nourishes while also reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. While I’m not overly concerned about wrinkles, I do get lines because I’m constantly squinting from the sun. This eye cream is helping dramatically with that!

Éminence Stone Crop Cleansing Oil — I have FINALLY found a cleanser that I will consistently use morning and night! I absolutely love how gentle it is, yet incredibly effective. What most people don’t know is that if you are prone to oily skin (like me), that using an oil based cleanser will actually help combat the production of more oil in your skin. Trust me, it works!

Another tip from my esthetician is to double cleanse at the end of the night. The first round of cleansing removes makeup and the second round removes an impurities leaving the skin clean and ready for your serum and moisturizer. I love this Stone Crop Cleansing Oil because it’s enriched with ingredients like stone crop (click link above to read how great stone crop is for the skin), micro greens, jojoba and sunflower oil so it really leaves your skin clean, yet hydrated!

Éminence Stone Crop Oxygenating Fizzofoliant — so I’m kind of obsessed with this fizzofoliant! Again, it contains stone crop, so it’s great for brightening the skin but this gentle exfoliant works AMAZING to eradicate impurities and leave the skin bright and even. I use this about 3-4 times a week. Simply dust a bit in the palm of your hand, add a touch of water and rub together. Then gently exfoliate your face and neck and rinse off. It’s really quite wonderful.

I’m very practical about my skincare routine and by not overwhelming myself with the amount of products and/or steps I think has been what helped me get the best skin of my life. I’m honest with myself and know that I don’t take the time to do face masks, so I didn’t purchase those. Instead, I invested in great everyday items that I would use day in and day out. I am adding to my regiment in September (once I go in for my next facial appointment) the Stone Crop Hydrating Mist in place of a toner*. Sometimes in the morning, I don’t feel like I need to cleanse again, but rather just freshen up my skin and that’s what this will be great for.

*I was previously using witch hazel for a toner and was complaining about how oily my skin was and how my makeup kept traveling all over my face. Upon learning that the witch hazel was probably stripping to much of my natural oils and my skin was trying to replenish it throughout the day. Once I stopped using it, and replaced it with the skincare items above, the problem stopped almost immediately!

You can find all the skincare & beauty products I’m using in my updated shop right here on the blog.

If you’re really interested in trying out these products, first check around your area to see if any esthetician performs all-natural skincare facials using Éminence. You might be surprised how much they really love this line of products and it’ll be great to learn what items would be best for your skin type.

If you’re in the Ventura County area, reach out to me and I can provide you with information for my gal!

I promise I’ll share a post soon where you can actually see me and my beautiful skin without  makeup. I’m not going to lie, ever since I got this new skincare regime underway and got my eyebrows microbladed, I can get ready in less than 5 minutes. It’s been so amazing!!
