I’m trying to be a bit more conscientious on what we hang in our rental house to avoid that dreaded “patching of holes” scenario come moving out time. So, the other day I got crafty and made a washi tape calendar on my home office wall.
Inexpensive, crafty, decorative and can be used in an abundance of ways …. the beauty of washi tape. If you haven’t already seen hundreds of pins containing an element of washi tape, then you (a) aren’t on Pinterest, (b) are already using washi tape or (c) just didn’t know what it was.
Washi Tape is by definition ‘japanese paper.’ The word Wa means Japanese and Shi meaning paper. (thank you Wishy Washi!) What is so great about this tape is that is can be printed in a gazillion colors, patterns or sizes and here’s the best part …. it EASILY removes. Thus, the creative options when using it is plentiful and there are no shortage of available resources online to find ideas.
For this easy-to-make calendar, I simply used the washi tape to make an outline of my calendar and filled in the days of the week and monthly days with colored sticky notes. This way, when the layout changes from month-to-month, you just have to simple peel and stick!
It’ll be easy to change dates, color code important events, etc. I’m kind of falling more in love with it each day. As with everything in my life, I’m sure I’ll mix and match the tape and change it up every now and then.
What do you think? Are you up for creating your own washi tape calendar?
