Let me give you a little background on just how much I love cookie dough. Notice I didn’t say cookies. I love cookie dough. Yep, plain ol’ chocolate chip cookie dough before it ever gets popped in the oven to become soft and chewy cookies. Even as a kid, I would forgo the warnings of eating it raw & sneak spoonfuls of the dough when my Mom was making us cookies. Those spoonfuls eventually turned into just making batches of dough without any intentions of baking it. Then it turned into gatherings with friends and family and we’d simply make a big batch of dough, finally omitting the eggs so we didn’t get anyone sick, and we’d watch a movie all while having our own spoons in hand to scoop delicious gobs of cookie dough into our mouths and be perfectly content for the night.
I’ll admit it, I always added less chocolate chips when knowing that I’d just eat the dough. The egg-less dough never tasted as good as the real thing and I found myself not making it as often because I didn’t want to make a whole batch of dough where I’d be tempted to eat it all.
Now let’s fast forward to my trip to Whole Foods this weekend where a gentleman was handing out spoonfuls of Just Cookie Dough by Hampton Creek. I’m going to tell you right now, it was the most delicious spoonful of the perfect cookie dough that I’ve had in years!!

I already know what you’re thinking… how could it really be that good when it’s omitting all those things? Believe me, I was shocked too! I bought a jar and literally sat on the couch that night with a spoon as happy as can be. It’s that good.
Best part, besides the ability to eat it raw at your hearts content you can also just spoon a few scoops of dough onto a cookie sheet and 10 minutes later you have delicious cookies! They do come out on the thin side, so don’t overbake them if you don’t like them crunchy.
