How many of you read the title of this recipe, Lamb Carpaccio Crostini with Blackberry Balsamic Reduction, and thought “whoa, Kristin thinks she’s turning into a Chef now!” I can only laugh at the thought of what some of you are thinking, but I’ll be 100% transparent — I sought out advice from a friend of mine who is a very successful Chef, BUT this recipe was created solely by me in my home kitchen. As fancy as it sounds, this recipe is very easy to make and tastes wonderful!
To answer your question, yes this recipe is essentially raw lamb. Stay with me. If you’ve ever had beef carpaccio, which is a traditional Italian dish, then you know just how wonderful it is. It’s more of a mental hurdle than anything else and the same goes for trying lamb carpaccio served on a crostini and topped with a drizzle of blackberry balsamic reduction. Trust me, it’s delightful!
I created this recipe in collaboration with Arrowood Vineyards and their prime pairings campaign featuring a proprietary Sonoma Spice Blend and their Knights Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. You’ll have to head over to their blog to get the full Lamb Carpaccio Crostini with Blackberry Balsamic Reduction recipe. It’s a wonderful dish to serve as an appetizer for an upcoming gathering.
