My Cosmetic Counter

10.23.13

Last week I shared with you my everyday essential beauty products that are a must have each morning. What I didn’t show you was all the other beauty & skincare goodies I have on hand for one reason or another.

For the products & tools I tend to use most often (i.e. eyeliners, mascara, powders, foundation, brushes, etc), I keep them stored on my bathroom counter in this great acrylic tray I found at Target.

The majority of my other cosmetics are stored in the drawers of my vanity. I use trays and acrylic storage boxes boxes to help keep the products in a semi-organized fashion.

My skincare products all reside in the medicine cabinet. When previewing our new house, I was so excited when I came upon the size of the medicine cabinets! Not only are they extra tall, but the shelves are adjustable and there is a mirror on the inside door. Genius!

Thanks to my beauty box subscriptions and attending some amazing events, I have quite a supply of skincare and beauty products. I still have to try out some, but my routine items tend to all be near the bottom for an easy reach.

Witch Hazel is amazing to refresh your face with in the morning and I swear by Aquaphor for everything!

I also keep a decorative tray on my vanity countertop with a display of hydrangea flowers, some essentials (cotton balls & dental floss!) and a pretty cake stand displays all my perfumes.

My theory is, if you can keep stuff looking organized and pretty then it can stay out on the counter. If it ultimately always ends up as a mess, then hide it away in drawers for your eyes only.
