Although I was in Indianapolis for work this past week (while others were there for their own personal businesses), I couldn’t help but take away messages that inspired and empowered me to do great things!
Thus, today’s Monday Momentum is about getting out of your own way and overcoming your own self-doubt. If you want something bad enough … believe in it & set out today to make it happen!
Whew, what a whirlwind past few weeks it has been!
Now that we are “almost” unpacked, I had to take off on a business trip to Indianapolis for 5 days. Needless to say, I am WAY behind catching up on blog post reads. I think my Bloglovin’ feed count is at 392 unread posts. Yikes!
Now that I blog, I could never just select all as “unread.” I know how much work goes into these posts and I really do try and read many of them.
Thus, on the flight today and as I sit in my hotel room adjusting to the Eastern Time Zone, I’ve been “liking” some of my favorite posts lately & thought it was time to spread to the love! READ MORE
There are many things I love about living in Southern California …. from the amazing scenery, vineyards galore, endless things to do, but most of all, I love the abundance of sunshine. Growing up in the midwest, we often dealt with unfavorably long winters that left you craving your next adventure to someplace warm!
Over 300+ days of sunshine, I rely on a multitude of cool sunglasses to get me by. I have shades & styles from various designers, but since I like to have them planted everywhere to ensure I’m never without, spending a fortune on them isn’t an option.
I came across Warby Parker not too long ago and was completely impressed with not only their styles of sunglasses (and eyeglasses!), but the PRICE! A quality pair of sunglasses with the option to add prescription lenses & here’s the best part …. when we buy a pair, they give a pair to someone in need. Stylish shades for all! I love that! Sorry for M.I.A. most of last week and through the weekend. We are officially moved into the new place & almost unpacked. Nothing like trying to get an entire move completed before leaving on a 5-day work trip!
Overall, the move went pretty smooth. We got the keys on Thursday and brought over 4-5 loads of stuff (mainly the fragile items) and spent the rest of the night preparing everything for the moving trucks. Friday morning the young bucks arrived (the company employs student-athletes as their movers) and got to work. They even gave me a VIP chair to oversee everything!! 6 hours later they were gone and we were left with stacks of boxes everywhere. READ MORE
Summer’s heating up (although it officially starts on June 21st) and your outfits should consist of breezy summer blouses, maxi dresses, cutoff shorts, stylish hats and bright colors.
It’s truly all about being comfortable, dressing for the weather & stepping up to whatever the occasion may be. So whether you have plans for backyard barbecues, summer weddings or hangouts at the beach, here are eleven outfits to inspire your summer style.
I recently purchased the white denim shorts from Lauren Conrad’s collection at Kohls, as well as the Derek Lam dress. I have plenty of fedoras for summer, but would love to add that Asos dress for some upcoming summer parties! READ MORE
Hey y’all & Happy Monday! Today’s Monday Momentum quote seemed somewhat fitting with my given situation.
We confirmed all the details and are moving homes in 6 very short days! Though there is the stress of the packing & moving process in such an incredibly short notice, but the move itself is actually quite exciting and I can’t wait to start another new adventure in a new area.
If you noticed #25 in my post of 25 Random Things About Me … I’m a nomad a heart. I love the thrill of living in a new area, a new home, meeting new people, decorating a house, etc. That part has never scared me or deterred me from making an impromptu decision because the travel of venturing down these new paths is what brings me happiness. Ultimately because I know it’s going to work out and the experience is worth it! READ MORE
To all the fathers, step-fathers, and father figures …. wishing you a very Happy Father’s Day! I hope you get to celebrate with family or friends barbecuing in the backyard, having a beer and relaxing with laughter.
Though probably a little bias, I think my Dad is the absolute best. He’s always been supportive and encouraging towards me pursing my passions, helping me move time & time again, and my very own “on-call” handyman even from 2000 miles away. I’m a very lucky girl to call him my father and wish I could be celebrating with him on a day all about him.
I used to love to draw as a kid and was pretty decent at it, but never practiced it enough or really even thought about sitting down to do it as an adult. Not too long ago I purchased a sketchbook and a set of pencils and realized I still had the promise of being decent at drawing but again fell susceptible to simply not having enough time in the day to pursue it.
Hence, my fascination with bloggers/entrepreneurs who utilize their drawing skillset into fashion illustrations for their blog & as a business. Here are some of my favorite illustrators & a sample of their lovely work. READ MORE
