They say a distinct smell can stick with someone forever… good or bad. Whether it be the smell of your Grandma’s famous meatballs cooking on the stove, the smell of a certain alcohol that resulted in a bad night (you know what I’m talking about!) or the smell of the perfume your Mom always wore growing up. It triggers memories and can instantly transport you back to a certain place or time when you first smelled it.
I know a lot of people who choose a signature perfume and stick with it tried and true. They may have a few additional options, but they remain loyal to their selection. I’ve never been big on perfume myself, having never cared enough to select that go-to fragrance that becomes synonymous with my personality. I have a decent selection of options and pick one based on how I’m feeling that day. There’s no secret to my selection. My sample bottles all come from my Birchbox subscription.
I do love how carefully selected the bottle shape, color and logo are on perfumes and think of them as an accessory décor piece. I say, put them on display because more often than not, you’ve probably spent a considerable amount of money on them and/or were gifted them by someone special in your life. I like to display mine on this beautiful etched glass tray I found at Target. I keep it on my bathroom vanity and seeing its beautiful arrangement each morning encourages me to give a quick spritz while getting ready for the day.
What is your favorite perfume of choice and how do you like to display your selections? I’d love to hear!
