For the past 3.5 years I have worked diligently at creating original content here on Modish & Main and with the launch of my creative marketing + photography business, I felt it was time to invest in myself again. Therefore, last weekend I packed a duffel bag and headed down to sunny San Diego for the 2-day Social Studio Workshop.
As an entrepreneur in the creative market space, I find the willingness to learn to be an invaluable asset. From the day I decided to start a lifestyle blog and read every article I could get my hands on to enrolling in an online Photoshop course and booking my first ticket to a blogging conference 3 days after launching the blog, I was a sponge for knowledge. Fast forward to where I am today and I felt it was time to invest back into the business and really develop a strategy that benefits both myself and you as the reader. My goal was to better understand who you are & bring you content that you deem valuable. Win—Win for both of us!
So what is Social Studio Shop and why did I choose this workshop versus all the others available? First and foremost, I have been a reader of their blog for over a year now & really gravitated towards their overall content. It seemed insightful, knowledgable and beneficial to me as a brand owner. Secondly, I felt like I had created an online friendship with the creator + staff & that we ultimately spoke the same language. There is nothing worse than attending a conference or workshop & you don’t feel connected to the speaker. Talk about a waste of money because I’ll guarantee you that if you don’t resonate with them, then it’s highly probable that you aren’t digesting their information.
Overall, I knew I needed a team of people who would break down my business to its core and help me build it back up. The ticket was purchased to the Social Studio Workshop that took place this past weekend & it was the best investment yet! My good friend & fellow blogger, Jill from @the805diary, joined me for the weekend where we immersed ourselves in all things branding and social media related. Take a peek at how insanely gorgeous the space was & all the little details that made it extra special.
The workshop was held at The Romantik Studio in Carlsbad.
One of the studio residents is Siren Floral Co who created these insanely gorgeous, inspiring floral bouquets around the room.
No need to bring a notebook thanks to the Social Studio Shop team + Cortney of Alvarado Creative Co! They created an interactive 50 page workbook that we completed cover to cover in the 2 day workshop span.
These insanely adorable splash-proof totes from the Aloha Collection were draped on the back of the chairs & filled with goodies from the workshop sponsors. Let’s be real, who doesn’t love a goodie bag?!?

A big thank you to Meagan Floris our resident photographer for capturing a ton of photos! I can’t wait to see them all featured on the Social Studio site soon!
If you have any inclination of wanting to invest back into your business then I would highly suggest looking into a 2017 workshop by Social Studio Shop. If you have an open mind, the willingness to learn & the motivation to implement new tactics then you can’t go wrong!
Keep Living a Stylized Life.
