In my last book challenge update I told you about reading Skin Cleanse and that I felt it’s a must read for anyone just looking to be more aware of their skin, dealing with skin issues or wanting to move in the direction of using more natural products.
I was completely enamored with the book and looked to take the first steps towards utilizing a more natural skin care regime (I have been using S.W. Basics for about 2.5 weeks now & will give you a review another day!). One of my favorite chapters is where they share DIY home skin care recipes that you can make right in your kitchen using good for you, non-chemical products that give you incredible results without the fancy label of some big cosmetics brand.
Since I bought the book on my Kindle, I wanted to create a way to have more access to the recipes without having to scan through my digital edition each time. Thanks to the many talented people selling their goods on Etsy, I purchased these kraft letterpress recipe cards by Olive Juice Press and this handmade rustic wood recipe box by Down Home Woodworks. I was so excited when they arrived that I immediately started writing the recipes (and why they work) on the cards!
Here’s a closer look at one of their DIY skincare recipes for a Balancing Oil Cleanser — it only contains Hazelnut Oil, Avocado Oil & Sesame Oil.
Now it’ll be easy to browse through the different recipes, decide what I want to make and run to the store to grab a fresh batch of essential ingredients. I’m so excited to get started!
