Pismo Beach Pier

01.06.15

Over the holidays, with my parents visiting for 11 days, I really tried to embrace stepping away from the computer and making the most of their time spent out west. We appreciate you sticking with us during our “downtime” and now that the New Year is officially kicked off and we’re all back to work… it’s time to get back to our regular programming.

I’ll be the first to admit that once you live near the ocean (we’re within 5 miles), you tend it take it for granted. Shamefully, I must say that I haven’t made the effort to stop by the beach in months. It’s like my brain doesn’t even consider it an option because it’s “the winter months.” Let’s be honest, our winter has been anything but. It takes having my parents out here to snap me out of it and take them down to the ocean because they’re grateful for the sunshine, sounds of waves and sand in between the toes. We even cruised up the coast and spent some time in Pismo Beach to watch the sunset. There is something so stunningly beautiful about a majestic skyline.

  1. I’m the same way when it comes to visiting the beach! I live less than 5 miles away, and work less than a mile away, and still haven’t been in far too long. Thanks for the reminder! Also, I love your flannel!

    1. Glad to hear I’m not the only way who doesn’t take full advantage of our surroundings Gloria! Well… both of us should make more of an effort to stop by the beach more often this year!!

  2. I can relate… Whenever people visit, I become a San Diego tourist all over again and feel like I don’t even live here haha It’s so strange to think we live in a place where people vacation.
