The February Edit

In this month’s February Edit it’s all about getting into the rhythm of those goals we set for the New Year, giving yourself permission to put YOU first and looking cozy & comfortable while doing it.

I’ll be perfectly  honest with all of you, I kind of loath the month of January because of all the expectations put on it. We tend to set these large, broad goals for the year and expect ourselves to achieve them in the first month. What winds up happening is that we’re overwhelmed, too stressed and 31 days just went by that you didn’t particularly enjoy. Guys, that 31 days of living! It’s time to get that back.

My February Edit is all about selecting items that grow you as a person, keep you exploring, living a healthy lifestyle and kicking those trends to the curb and sticking with the cozy & comfortable that we know we’ll get lots of wear out of!

I won’t go into detail about them all, but I do want to highlight a few of my favorite.

Amazon Echo Dot — There has obviously been a lot of buzz about the power of Echo & I currently have a love/hate relationship with it. It has the potential to do SO MANY things, but I have to go through the learning curve first to figure out getting those to work. Right now she’s used primarily for answering questions, but I saw first-hand at my friend’s house that if you set up your home compatible with the Echo it can turn on & off lights, play music, set your thermostat and more! The smart home movement is officially underway.

S.W. Basics Oil Serum — Guys, I’m on my 4th bottle of this stuff and it truly works. I switched to using a completely all-natural skin regime almost 2 years ago and this oil serum has actually taken place of a traditional moisturizer even though I have very oily skin! My skin just soaks it up. It contains just 4 ingredients — avocado oil, germanium oil, turmeric oil and coffee oil.

Sorel Winter Fancy Lace II Boot — For a SoCal girl, this boot saw a lot of action in the month of January! They came with as we hiked the Redwoods & survived the torrential rain in the Sonoma area and sloughed through the fresh snow powder of Colorado. They’re small in stature for a winter boot & the rubber sole will come in handy if we keep getting these sporadic rainfalls. I couldn’t save enough good things about them!

Kindle Paperwhite — Being able to achieve my reading goal of over 40 books a year wouldn’t be possible without the addition of my Paperwhite. I had the original version for many, many years (even needed a clip-on light), but with my Kindle Unlimited subscription ($9.99/mo) that I can access right from the new device, plus keep track of my books via Goodreads it’s been a lifesaver. I have a goal to read 45 books this year & I’m already onto my 6th book. Needless to say, I love to read!

With my goal to keep exploring this year, I’d love to get my hands on that black & cognac vegan leather weekender! Throw in a few outfits, my Kindle and I’m off.

This isn’t to mention that plenty of these items would make a great Valentine’s Day gift, so don’t be afraid to send him over this link with a few hints!

Have a great month friends & please…. do something that benefits yourself each day! Your mind & body will thank you.
