Sharing pictures and memories from my recent mountain west road trip.
As I mentioned in my post about my favorite road trip snacks, I haven’t actually always been a fan of road trips. Hopping in a car to go anywhere usually equals nap time or a horrific amount of time spent in traffic. It wasn’t until last year when I went on this same road trip that I truly came to appreciate life on the road. Fast forward 365 days and my brother, Ryan, and met up in Montana to start yet another 9-day road trip journey through the Mountain west.
What I love about traveling with Ryan is that he pushes my comfort boundaries and he usually is up for my impromptu last minute suggestions. It’s a healthy balance with limited arguing, plenty of laughs and memories made that will last a lifetime.
While we hit up a few of the same towns/cities from last year, we did have the opportunity to throw in a few new experiences. We managed to do 5 hikes and visit 3 National Parks in 9 days. Here’s a bit of the travel log so you have an idea of where we all went! *This is also a work trip for my brother, so we had certain cities we had to stop in.
Day 1: Flew in Kalispell, MT and stayed in Whitefish, MT
Day 2: Hiked to Avalanche Lake in Glacier National Park
Day 3: Drove to Missoula, Helena and Bozeman, MT
Day 4: Hiked Pine Creek Falls outside Livingston, MT. Then drove to West Yellowstone
Day 5: Hiked Mary Mountain Trail in Yellowstone and then into the Grand Tetons and stayed in Jackson Hole, WY
Day 6: Hiked to Taggart Lake in the Grand Tetons and then drove to Steamboat Springs, CO
Day 7: Explored Steamboat and then drove to Vail, CO
Day 8: Hiked Booth Trail in Vail, CO
Day 9: Drove from Vail to Denver, CO
I want to share some of the fun behind-the-scene photos from the trip, plus a few of my favorite scenic shots here on the blog. If you want to check out a majority of the awesome scenic shots, they head over to the Modish Wanderer blog where I go into a bit more depth about what hikes we did and the views we were rewarded with!
Lastly, I need to give my brother all the thanks in the world for being such a patient and rather fun “model” for all our new Modish Wanderer apparel. This includes the launch of our latest collaboration with Outside TV Campfire and the exclusive tee you can only get here!
