Sip on this healthy, delicious tropical protein smoothie that’ll have you feeling like you woke up in paradise.
As you may have noticed we are pretty fond of having something fresh in our bellies first thing in the morning. Whether it be a fresh pressed green juice, an espresso smoothie or a refreshing tropical protein smoothie, it’s all designed to give us a healthy start to the day. I particularly love this smoothie after I’ve completed a workout because I’m giving my body an added dose of electrolytes from the coconut water and extra post-recovery boost from the protein powder.
We purchase the large, bulk bags of frozen tropical fruit from Costco, along with the coconut water so we always have the necessary ingredients on hand. If you don’t do so already, buy 2-3 bushels of bananas, peel them, place in individual snack baggies and stick them in the freezer. We have found this extra little step to be efficient in the mornings, plus it gives the smoothie a creamier texture.
We love the Tone It Up protein in our house to make anything from these fresh tropical smoothies to healthy protein pancakes. Both the chocolate and the vanilla taste great & keep you feeling full all morning long!
