Let’s kick off a new series on the blog this year giving you a little glimpse inside what my I’m up to on the weekend! Often times, it’s not much, but there are some bursts of energy to get out & play.
Can we first discuss who’s brilliant idea it was to work 5 days and have only 2 days off? Actually, I think I know this answer. It may have started with Henry Ford creating the car & by popular demand of the vehicles, he had to move to more production. Blah! The funny thing is, as my own boss, I certainly don’t have to condemn to these standards. I’ve considered doing the 4-day workweek & leaving Friday’s for creative outlets, educational learning, etc.
Anyways…. back to my weekend recap. After weeks of coordinating everyone’s schedules, a group of gals got together at RELM Wine & Beer Bistro in Camarillo for a much needed G.N.O. (girls night out) on Thursday. It’s only been open 7 weeks, but this place is definitely going to be getting lots of my business! The tapas were insanely delicious & the wine selection was on-point.
Friday night my good friend Aisha of The Middle of Here hosted a dinner party at her new home in Santa Barbara. We drank plenty of wine, ate some really delicious Italian style food and even walked down to a hookah bar to top off the night.
Alright, now that we are officially into the weekend recap and I’m not trying to rub it in, but the weather on Saturday & Sunday here in Oxnard was over 70°. To take advantage of it, Sean and I headed into downtown Ventura to relax on the patio at Rumfish y Vino. I had my first Cubano sandwich & it’s safe to say that I’m in love. We sipped on some cocktails and tossed some bones (that’s cool kid lingo for dominoes) for the better part of the day. I won’t lie, I’m still a bit bitter that I came back from being down 75 points to being up by 100 and ended up losing by 5 points. It still stings.
Again, with the weather so nice, on Sunday I scrubbed down the back patio and got it ready for warm days & nights ahead! I ended up tossing a bunch of dead plants, unneeded furniture and enjoyed my breakfast, lunch and happy hour rosé out there. There is nothing like putting your feet up on a warm afternoon with a good magazine and wine to truly unwind from the past week.
I’ll be spending most of the week behind my computer & quite possibly working from my laptop on the patio in the afternoons. You know where to find me! I hope you all have a great week ahead.
Keep Living a Stylized Life.
